Just a quick Bubb update. He seems to be in fine spirits, right back to bullying the cat and the other parrot Bill. He even had cross sqawks with the Cockatoo. He does seem to be eating but with the way birds eat it can be hard to tell if he's actually eating or just throwing his food all over the place. He doesnt seem to even notice the stitches in his chest.
So all in all I have been tempting him with soft foods like scrabled eggs, baby food and mashed potatoes. He's been dipping bread in his water for himself also.

I have to say I think I was more upset over his little operation than he was. I think he was more concerned about going through the McDonalds drive through for his after the vet cheeseburger.

In other birdie news I had placed some possibly fertile eggs under one of my broody Bantam hens. I got them from Barbs folks chickens. We had a wonderful visit last weekend. Her Mom and sister in law were kinds enough to let us raid thier lovely vegtable gardens while we were there. So today I have a beef stew with carrot, onions and turnips fromt he Turner soil in the crockpot. But Back to birds. We had some rain last night and my little hen has decided to sit tight on her eggs under an old piece of plastic roofing by a fence. She'll be pretty dry there but my house gutter was in full swing and I was worried she and her eggs might float away in the mini flood. But she seemd fine this morning and the eggs seemed dry enough. I think I'll have to build a little channel to direct the stream away from her nest.

It would be pretty exciting to have some chicks from these eggs, not that I need anymore chickens. I tihnk the girls themselves would be over the moon to actually hatch some little ones. I'm tempted to think the little hen somehow knows her new eggs are special. She sure sets up a fuss if I get to close and she makes a great show of trying to lure me away!
Stay tuned for more birdie Bios!
