Here are the promised photos of the inside of my knee.
Upper left is the front of the knee
upper right is the inside ( of the leg) and you can see the little torn bit of meniscus
bottom right is the back of the knee
bottom left is the inside(left side) of the knee joint with the torn meniscus protruding from the joint
Bottom is the same as above with the torn piece removed
The meniscus its-self has no blood flow or nerves, so the tear doesn't hurt. What happens is the tear moves around and interferes with the workings of the knee and muscles around it and that's what causes it to hurt and give way .
My knee is still a little swollen and aches now and then but I can walk normally and it hasn't given me any trouble.
