Phat baby Hats!
Below are some hats I made for an expecting friend, obviously she's expecting a little girl

Bf and I had a great weekend. Thinking it was going to rain we decided to go to the Zoo, turns out the weather was nice so everyone else went to the Zoo too. So I go to the Zoo and bring my camera and what do I take pictures of before my battery runs out? Yep, birds and of all things a spinning wheel on display in the littel farm area with the sheep! I was a little jealous to notice that the Zoo chickens looked fatter than mine...

here's the Zoo's wheel

A pretty bird

another pretty bird in there somewhere

And another pretty bird.
And the prettiest bird of them all

Of course on this trip to the Zoo, my camera battery runs out and of course we got to see lots of cool stuff. We saw a hippo get a drink from a water spray. He openned his mouth real wide and drank and then he washed his ears and face. Then later we got to see the Orangutans get thier snacks of lettuce and oranges.
We also got to see the Toucans take a bath and of course I had to spend some time in the WillaBong station place. This is a really cool exhibit where you get to hang out with a bunch of free flying Budgies Cockateils and a few Rosellas.
You can buy little seed sticks and they will come and hang out on your hand and eat. A couple even tried to use the Bf's bald head as a landing pad.
I also got a big laugh when I noticed that they had a display all about the Mountain Beaver! I'm really tempted to call them up and ask if they would like a live one for thier animal collection, they are more than welcome to mine.

Yesterday we had Dinner at the Bf's folks to visit with his Grandpop. He solved the mytery of the German Spinning wheel I got a little while ago. When he saw the pictures he immediately knew that it said " I lost my stockings in Lauterbach" He said it was an old German poem that had also been a song. How cool is that?

I have a new peeps pen all set up waiting for them to arrive. In the end I had to order one more ( the company thew in the 5th chick for free) in order to make a total of 5 chicks. I'm really hoping they come this week. if they all survive the trip I will be pushing my chicken capacity at a total of 9. I did have 13 at one point but the majority of them were the little Banties who did minimal damage. I think I will have to see how well my yard (what's left of it) can handle the bigger girls. I will mean more eggs for friends and neighbors in the future though.
Oh well watch this space for my new peeps!
