Hello all, here are some spring (finally) photos from the backyard. Here are some Evening Grosbeaks visiting the feeder

Here is a blossom from the apple tree

And

the lilac the bf planted

The little chicks are doing fine..here is one of the Big Betties resting in the shade. They tolerate the babies. I think they are still a little confused by the sudden chang in pecking order status. Each night I can watch them all settle down in the coop on the coop cam and each night everyone settles down a little closer to each other.

I swear these chickens like to have thier picture taken. Here Korma poses for the camera. These gals are the tamest chickens I have ever known. The Big Betties were from freecycle and the other ones I had raised are all gone, they were about a week or so old when I got them. These girls came to me the day after they hatched so I guess I'm Mommy, they like to hop up on my lap and peck and me. Cassie likes to try to perch on my shoulder ( Guess she thinks she a parrot) If I sit for awhile on a chair in the run I will eventually be covered in chicks curious about wether or not my eyes are shiny food.

Things are ok. Work is well, work, sometimes you just have to wade through the you know what. The weather has been downright wacky, cold one day in the upper 80's the next. Since all the girls are staying in the run I once again have the backyard to myself. So far I have a lotta peas, some tomato plants, a few cukes and some pumpkins. The BF has requested corn and sunflowers.

We got a new big propane grill and have really been enjoying it. We spent a nice mothers day with the BF's family and got to play with the ever adorable niece. She has the best manners, she informed us the she loved visiting with us but it was time for her to go home now.

Since the weather has been so hot and it's moulting time Mr Bubba really likes to take a bath, heres be-elzibubba

What? so I'm having a bad feather day!

Oh he's such a mess I can't even look!
