There's a parrot in my peas!
For the first time in thier little poultry lives the baby chickens got to come out and explore the rest of the backyard. The older Big Betties have used to come out fairly often so they were prety happy to have the run of the place again. The others were pretty shy about facing the big wide world, poor little chicken chicken Cashew flat out refused to come out at all but went and hid under a bush in the pen.
Here are Korma and Keiv cautiously checking things out.
Once I sat down in th grass the decided it was safe to come over to see if I had any treats, all except Cashew. None of them went to far and were more than happy to return home to the coop. I used to like to let the girls have the run of the whole backyard but that made them easy pickings for the Coons so now they make do with a spacious side yard
Awhile ago I noticed aphids on my apple tree, so I tried an incecticide but it didn't seem to do much, so I brought in the troops, about 1500 ladybugs to be exact. When I let them go they all ran up the branches, sadly I still see a ton of aphids and not so many ladybugs. I hope they are busy multiplying and eating aphids!
Meanwhile back in the house, handy man Bf has started work on the utility\bathroom. Here it is after having removed the toilet and vanity and mirror. Looks like at one point in time my folks liked a mustard yellow room
Ewwwwwwwwwww! No wonder we never used this room!
