This is a fat little chick given to me by my BF's Mom. Sadly I was down with a nasty sinus infection and I missed Bf's niece's 3rd Birthday party. I hear she had a nice time and got lots of nice presents. I also heard ( some time later) that the Bf will be an Uncle again here in a few months!!!! Yea!
Hell, I am another year older..funny how that keeps happening. As usual the BF outdoes himself. He is really good in the present department. This year he got me a really cool selection of Roman coins from an archeological dig. They haven't even been cleaned up all the way yet so I get to wash them myself. On quite a few you can see the heads of Emporors..or Ceasar or whoever was running things at the time.
Also in the stash were a few actual Roman rings...wow they knew how to make jewelry that lasts..
He also gave me a stamped coin, minted in the city of York ( our recent vacation destination) around the year 1300. That is frickin old.... I mean this coin was in circulation when the Black Plague was wiping out most of Europe!
At this rate, between the two of us we'll be able to open our own museum here soon.
As a birthday addendum we are off to the Oregon coast for the weekend. I'm looking forward to checking out Astoria ( I hear you can see the Goonies house from there!) and just spending time at the ocean. I'll be sure to get some pix
