Sunny Sunday..
After a cold and rainy week we finally had some sun this weekend. I actually felt well enough to get out and do some work int he yard.
First off was tackling the chicken coop. With this winter being as harsh as it was I had given the girls lots of extra straw to keep them warm and they have been fertilizing it al winter long.
They weren't too happy about me messing around in thier house and every time I left to get fresh straw they ran in to check everything out only to panic and make a ruckus when I returned to throw in new straw.
All the girls seem happy and healthy, I think all 6 are laying now, as I get a half dozen nearly every day.
The back yard is starting to come back to life. The Lilacs are budding as are all the fruit trees. I can see some bulbs had tried to come up but the chickens have been nibbling on them. So it won't be long before the girls will be quarentined back in thier run so things can have a chance to grow.
Hannah got a rare treat. I pruned a couple of branches from the apple tree and she really enjoyed chewing up the bark.
