Bravo S.A.M

Ok, I will be the first to admit. I am a museum snob. I am really. I was spoiled in my youth. I spent my much hours in the Victoria and Albert museum, or the Natural history museum of London. I was lucky enough to live near some of Londons great museums at one time. I've also been to Muse de Orsee in Paris, The Clink and tower in London, Londdon prtrait museum,Museum of torture
in Amsterdam,Royal BC museum in Victoria, Musuem of ANthropology in Vancouver, The Macaw Museum in Neah Bay.

See? Museum snob dropping names left and right

The point is I was never terribly thrilled with the Seattle Art Museum. ( I still think MOHI isn't as good as the Royal BC) S.A.M. just never impressed the BF and I. A few nice paintings but it was pretty small in comparison and there seemed to be a limited selection.

Last weekend the BF went on his own to see it since it's remake and he came home tickled pink and had already signed up both up as members. So we went again this last weekend and I will say I am impressed. They did a very good job removating it. The Procelaine room and Renaisance room were terrific. The whole museum was very well laid out and flowed nicely. There now is an extensive african exhibit and the Native American area was much improved. I was pleased to see some Charles Edenshaw and Robert Davidson pieces.

It is a much better museum than it was, the gift shop was very snazzy with an excellent book selection. I was really impressed by the size of it, it's kind of sad to think of all that stuff they had that was hidden away in back rooms becuase they didn't have room to dispay it. It was nice too, to see that the place was very busy and crowded on a Sunday afternoon. There was an extensive Minimalist and modern art selection too. Not my cup of tea but nice to look at anyway, especially the giant black mouse.

I hear they are gonig to rennovate the Asian Art Museum, hopefully they will get to redo MOHI too.

In other news we had a neighbor come over to ask us what that giant thing living under the deck was. We told him it was a gopher and he was relieved, he thought he saw the worlds largest tailless rat. I'm thinking of getting a humane trap to catch him and relocate him to a less populated area, he's eating all my plants.

Nothing else to report other than I finished Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows so I know how it ends!!!!! Ha ha ah aha ha aaaa Bwaaaa haa ha ah
