We had a very nice weekend dispite the chilly weather. Little Bill Jardine had his bi annual rhinoplasty or beak trim at the vets. The vet also noted that he is getting fat. He likes to sneak down my arm to grab bites of dinner for himself. Maybe he needs to go on a diet.
After his appointment Bf and I decided to go on an impromtu drive to Port Orchard. So we caught the ferry and then I realized that Port Gamble was on the way (kinda) to Port Orchard so of course I had to insist on stopping at the Artful Ewe shop. I had bought from Heidi before at St Distaffs and the Whidby Island spin in and always loved her batts.
I have to say she has a really beautiful shop in the old firehouse there in town. So of course I had to pick up a few things! I got some absolutely georgous Merino and Cashmere hand dyed mix roving. Then I saw some very pretty Alpaca yarn that will probably become a hat.
Then the BF and I went to the Port Gamble museum. I never knw there was a museum there. I had been to the General store and Shell museum several times but it turns out there is a very nice historic museum behind that. They had very nice replica rooms of the Old Port Gamble Hotel and the town lumber office.
Then we went on to Port Orchard and stopped for lunch at Amy's on the Bay restraunt. I had a yummy Bourbon burger and BF had fish and chips. Then we explored some of the antique malls in town.
The BF is a man of few words, but every now and then he comes up with some pearls of wisdom. He said that Antique malls are a little like museums, they have old stuff that can be historic and you can touch it.
Then on the way home we stopped at a nursery that had a beautiful Bonsai Garden right on the water. We managed to see it all just before it got dark. Some of the Bonsai trees were hundreds of years old

Thanks for the lovely sights!!
I'm envious of those blue/brown rovings! Gorgeous colors! And that bonsai garden is too neat. I'll have to get the details from you so I can take the kids there one day.
